Moycarkey-Borris GAA Club Notes - February 18th 2013

UNDER 21 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP: In the U21 mid championship Moycarkey got off to a great start with a comprehensive win over Thurles Sarsfields.

MEMBERSHIP AND REGISTRATION: Club membership and registration for 2013 is now open and can be paid to John Kelly, Mary Shelly or Rita Clohessy. Membership must be paid as soon as possible. Non player membership of 40 euro available to supporter, this membership includes text messaging for fixtures and general club information, please contact club officers if you are interested in supporters membership.

SCOR NA BPAISTI: The parish committee would like to say a huge well done to our figure dancers, solo singers, recitation, seán nos dancer, tráth na gceisteanna team and novelty act who all competed in both the mid-semi and mid final in the last few weeks.

EASTER HURLING/FOOTBALL CAMP: There will be a three day camp in the hurling field from Tue 2nd April to Thur 4th April from 10 am to 1pm.It is open to all registered primary school boys and girls from 6 to 13 years of age. It will cost €20 per child and all children will receive a sliotar and football.If interested please contact Mary Shelly (086 3190653) asap

CHILD WELFARE AND PROTECTION: Moycarkey Borris GAA Club have organised a Child Welfare & Protection in sport basic awareness training course to be held in the Clubrooms on Wednesday February 20th at 7.30pm. It is recommended that all coaches, parents and administrators who are involved with coaching children or clubs with juvenile membership attend this course. The course covers the need for coaches to know not only
the best practice for Child Protection regarding child safety and individual policy, but also how to protect themselves and the support networks that are available regarding the suspicion of abuse. If you are interested in attending this course please contact Michelle Donnelly, 087 2422774.

MOUTH GUARDS: Mouth guards have now become compulsory for all juvenile football players. Players must wear a mouth guard for all football training sessions and matches.

CLUB GEAR: Club body warmers and track suit pants are currently in stock and available to buy from Catherine Gleeson.
