Moycarkey-Borris GAA Club Notes - February 4th 2014

Lotto Results: Results for 27/01/14, numbers 09, 18, 23, 27, no jackpot winner, 3 match 3s at €70 each, Pat Kerwick, Bohernavane, Thurles, Sandra Carey c/o John Kelly, PJ Boland, Littleton

Drama: Thurles Drama Group have kindly agreed to give the club the proceeds of the first night of the their drama “A view from the Bridge” by Arthur Miller which will take place on Monday 24th of February, in order for the club to benefit from this you need to get your tickets from the club which are available from the following, Peggy Kirby, Catherine Donnelly, Sally Duggan, Rita Clohessy, Norah Maher, Mary Shelly and Joe O’Sullivan.

Scor na bPaisti: Well done to the participants in the Mid Semi Final of Scor na bPaisti that was held last Sunday, congratulations to Ronan O’Dwyer who qualified in the Sean-Nós and the Ballad Group consisting Deirdre Fogarty, Kate Looby, Amy Cummins, Emily Murphy. We would like to wish the Ballad Group and Sean Nós dancer in the Mid Final which will take place on Sunday in the Muintir na Tire hall, Littleton at 2pm.

Battle in the Big Top: Moycarkey GAA and Camogie players will take on Thurles Sarsfields in a boxing night on the 16th of March. Training commenced last week and we would like to thank all those who have got this project underway, tickets are available from committee members and also from those involved in the fight.

Club AGM: Moycarkey Borris held their AGM recently with a good attendance on the night, the following officers were elected, President - Jim Leahy, Chairman - Liam Hackett, Vice Chairman - Eamonn Donnelly, Secretary - Joe Moran, Assistant Secretaries - Mary Shelly and Norah Maher, Treasurer - Rita Clohessy, Assistant Treasurer - Sally Duggan, PRO - Mairead Clohessy, Drugs and Alcohol Officer - Liam Hayes, Cultural Officer - Helen Dowling, Insurance Officer - Pat Carey, Registrars - Daniel Kirby and Kieran Morris, Child Welfare Officer - Michelle Donnelly, Mid Board Rep - Michael Clohessy, County Board Rep - John Hackett

Gear: A once-off order will be made for gear bags and Connect Ireland tops, please contact Catherine Donnelly if you wish to order one asap.

Membership: Non-player membership of 40 euro now available for 2014, this membership ensures you receive text alert messages for matches and current events in the club. Family membership of 70 euro available for 2 adults and 2 under 16s players. Player Membership for 2014 is now due, please ensure you pay ASAP, players are urged to pay their membership prior to the start of competitive games as injuries will not be covered by the GAA insurance scheme unless membership has been paid, rate remains unchanged. Please contact Daniel on (087 9855400) or Kieran on (086 1959211) to pay your membership.
