Moycarkey-Borris GAA Club Notes - March 8th 2011

U21A Football: Last Friday night saw the mid U21A semi-final where we played Moyne - Templetuohy under lights in Templetuohy. After a close encounter Moycarkey Borris emerged victorious thanks to a late goal from captain Rory Ryan on a finishing scoreline of 2 6 to 0 11. Well done to all.

Cahill Cup: Saturday saw the first round of the Cahill cup where we met JK Brackens in Templemore. We suffered a narrow defeat of 2 pts on a scoreline of 1 12 to 1 10.


County Senior Hurling League: Our first opponents in the county senior hurling league are KIlruane Mac Donaghs in Cloughjordan on Sunday @ 1pm (NOTE TIME CHANGE). Support is welcome!

Club committee meeting: The next club meeting is on Wednesday 16th @ 8.30pm in clubrooms. All are welcome.

Scor Senior

Last Saturday in Cappoquin the Munster semi -final of the Senior Scor was held. Moycarkey Borris were represented successfully by the ballad group consisting of Siobhan Doran, Tom Doran, Mandy Fennessy, Michelle Maher and Ann Marie Molloy on the night and qualified for the Munster final which will take place in Templemore on Saturday March 19th. We would like to congratulate the group on their success so far in the competition and wish them well in the Munster Final. The competitors would like to thank all those who travelled to Cappoquin and ask for your support in Templemore for the final. Anyone wishing to attend the Munster Final tickets must be booked in advance from Mairead on 0877485623.

Scor na bPaisti

The Mid semi- final of Scor na bPaisti took take place last Sunday in Littleton Hall . The following teams from Moycarkey Borris qualified for the Mid final, figure dance. Novelty act and set dancing. The Mid final will be held in Clonmore Community Hall on Sunday next 13th March at 6 pm, and the County final of Scor na bPaisti is scheduled to take place in Halla na Feile in Cashel on Sunday 27th March at 6.30 pm. We wish the above teams that best of luck in the Mid Final.

Juvenile club: All age groups are back in training now. Last Saturday our tens took part in their 1st blitz of the season. An enjoyable evening was had. The 14s were out in the peil where they came up against a strong drom & inch team who went on to win the final. The 8's and 10's are training on Saturdays at 10.30am.

Club Membership: All levels of club membership must be paid strictly by the end of March. This can be done by contacting club registrar John Kelly. Family or juvenile membership may be paid again this Saturday in the hurling field from 10.30 to 1.30pm.
