Moycarkey Borris GAA Club Notes - 23rd October 2017

Horse and Jockey Kia Mid Tipperary Under 21 B Hurling
Congratulations to Moycarkey Borris who defeated Thurles Sarsfields in the Horse and Jockey Kia Mid Tipperary Under 21 B Hurling Losers Group Final. The game was never in doubt as by the second minute Moycarkey Borris had scored 1-3 to Thurles Sarsfields single point. Thurles Sarsfields tried in vain to get the ball to their half but each time it crossed the mid-way line, the Moycarkey Borris backs defended well and sent the ball to their forwards. In the twenty third and twenty sixth minute Sarsfields managed to score two points but Moycarkey had successfully added another goal, Tom Hayes second, and ten points to their score line to go in at half time Moycarkey Borris 2-13 Thurles Sarsfields 0-3.

The second half was a similar affair with Thurles Sarsfields adding three points to their tally. Moycarkey Borris added 17 scores to their score count but seven of them were goals from JJ Darmody (3), Tomas Darmody (1), Kieran Kearney (1), Kevin O’Regan (1), Anthony McKelvey (1) and ten points. As the full-time whistle blew, the final score was Moycarkey Borris 9-23 Thurles Sarsfields 0-6.

The club will compile their eighth edition of the Moycarkey-Borris GAA Club Annual Newsletter and it will be in the local shops this December. Senior Club Meeting
Moycarkey Borris GAA Club will hold a club meeting in the club house on Wednesday, October 25th at 8.30pm. All members are welcome to attend.
