Under 21 Hurling
Moycarkey Borris Under 21 team secured their place in the Donal and Rose Younge Mid Tipperary Under 21 A Hurling Semi Final following a comprehensive victory over Upperchurch Drombane on a score line Moycarkey Borris 5-9 Upperchurch Drombane 1-10.

Upperchurch Drombane opened the scoring with a pointed free by Loughlin Ryan in the second minute. This was quickly followed by a point from Paul Shanahan in the third and another pointed free from Loughlin Ryan in the eighth minute. Upperchurch Drombane were dominating the game for the first twelve minutes but a pointed free by Anthony McKelvey woke Moycarkey up. As the game entered the start of the second quarter Moycarkey’s Anthony McKelvey netted the ball, courtesy of a penalty received. Moycarkey now led by a point and battled hard to add to it. Points from Anthony McKelvey in the twenty first and twenty second minute cushioned this. In the following minutes points were traded by Mattie Ryan and Robert Murphy and blood substitute Joey Doran put his name on the score sheet with a point in the twenty sixth minute. In the twenty eighth Loughlin Ryan raised the flag for Upperchurch and reduced the margin to a single point. JJ Darmody registered the last score of the first half when he goaled for Moycarkey in the last minute to allow Moycarkey in at half time, Moycarkey Borris 2-5 Upperchurch Drombane 1-4.

It was all to play for in the second half and again Upperchurch’s Loughlin Ryan opened the scoring with a point from a sideline ball. Anthony McKelvey nullified this when he pointed a free in the thirty seventh minute. Ronan Gleeson added a point to Upperchurch’s scoreline. In the next ten minutes Kieran Cummins and Rory O’Regan traded points with Loughlin Ryan and Niall Grant. As the game entered the final ten minutes the three point margin remained until in the fiftieth minute Eric Fanning’s sideline ball was directed straight to JJ Darmody who successfully placed it in the back of the net for Moycarkey’s third goal. From the puck out Moycarkey worked the ball back to Rory O’Regan who passed the ball to a free Anthony McKelvey. Anthony hit the ball and it looked as if it was going to drop short but there was enough in it to go over the head of Eanna Ryan and land in the back of the net. The margin was now stretched to nine points. Upperchurch added a further two points to their score line but Moycarkey managed a point from Rory O’Regan and Anthony McKelvey’s final addition to the score line was a goal just the final whistle. Moycarkey Borris 5-9 Upperchurch Drombane 1-10
