Moycarkey Borris Notes 4/5/14

County Senior Football Championship: We play Killenaule in the 1st round of the Senior Football championship on Wednesday at 7pm in Gortnahoe.

Mid Senior Hurling Championship: We play Loughmore Castleliney in the first round of the Mid Senior Hurling Championship on Sunday at 7pm in The Ragg

County Intermediate Hurling Championship: We were defeated by Rockwell Rovers in our 2nd match of the Intermediate championship on a scoreline of 1.16 to 16 points

Mid Junior Hurling League Division 3: We defeated Gortnahoe in Littleton last Friday night.

Under 14 Feile na Gael: Our under 14s were out again on Saturday in the Feile and created history by winning another county title. First up was Toomevara in the county semi .We had wind advantage in the first half and a couple of quick goals gave us a great start. While Toomevara battled hard in the second half we were comfortable winners on a scoreline of 4.13 to 2.7. Moyle Rovers beat Cappawhite in the second semi final which set us up for a repeat of last weeks football final. The opening half saw some great displays of hurling with Moycarkey leading at half time on a scoreline of 3.7 to 2.3. Moycarkey pushed ahead in the second half with captain Jack Fallon giving an exhibition and leading his team to another county title. Final score was 4.13 to 2.6. Well done to all the team and mentors as it is a fantastic achievement to win county Peil and Feile. Fundraising: Our under 14s are representing Tipperary in the Peil na nOg on the 26th, 27th and 28th of June in Mayo a fundraising raffle will take place to help cover the costs involved in participating in this competition. We will be selling tickets at 5 euro a line with some great prizes including 2 all-Ireland tickets with overnight accommodation, a 32 inch television and lots more. The players and coaches will be selling the tickets and we look forward to your support.

Ladies Football: Hard luck to Marie Kinnane and Saoirse O’Meara who were on the Minor and U14 Tipperary Teams respectively, who were beaten in Munster finals at the weekend.  Congratulations to Olivia Hogan who was on the U16 Tipperary Team who won Munster U16 Final.
