Rita Clohessy - Late of Ballydavid, Littleton, Thurles

Died on 24th February 2015

Rita’s family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all who sympathised with them in their recent sad bereavement. Thanks to those who called to the house and attended the funeral Mass and burial, especially those who travelled long distances to be with us. To all those who sent Mass cards, flowers and messages of sympathy to all family members a sincere thank you.

We would like to thank most sincerely those who cared for Rita during her illness – Prof. Mary Cahill, Haematology Department, Prof. Mary Horgan, Infectious Disease, Mr. Declan Reidy, Orthopedics Department and their teams, Cork University Hospital, Mr. Martin Murphy, Neurosurgery Department Santry Sports Clinic, Mr. Tadgh Lynch, Pain Management, Aut Even Hospital, her GP Dr. Margaret Lonergan and all the staff at Premier Health Clinic, Hugh Ryan and the staff at Ryan’s chemist. We want to acknowledge the Nursing and Healthcare staff of Ward 2B Cork University Hospital for the exceptional treatment Rita received during the seven months she was in their care. We would also like to thank the North Tipperary Hospice Home Care Team for the care Rita received in her final week at home. We particularly want to express our gratitude to the special friends and family who cared so tenderly and selflessly for Rita and were there to offer support to us in her final days.

Sincere thanks to Fr. Bourke and Fr. O’Donnell for their attention to Rita’s spiritual needs and for supporting us in our preparation of the funeral Mass. We thank them and the concelebrants for a beautiful funeral Mass. Special thanks to Ann-Marie Kavanagh for her wonderful singing, to Paul and Dixie Byrne and Claire Kavanagh for their music, and the local community choir lead by Stella Quinn and Michelle King, which added so much to the funeral Mass. Special thanks to Joe Moran for the eulogy delivered most eloquently, which captured Rita’s essence. We extend thanks to the Sacristans and altar servers, gravediggers and to Seanie Mockler and Paudie Coen for their graveside song. We would also like to thank Bannon’s and Kinnane’s for catering after Rita’s funeral. Thank you to Muintir na Tire Hall Littleton, Moycarkey Sports Centre and Moyne Community Centre their help during the course of the funeral.

We owe a debt of gratitude to the members of Moycarkey Borris GAA Club and Rita’s colleagues in LIT Tipperary who formed Guard of Honours and helped during the week of the funeral. Thanks in particular to the wonderful neighbours and friends who worked tirelessly to cater for the many people who came to pay their last respects. A special thanks to all the local businesses and neighbours that provided food for the days of the funeral. Thanks to all those that provided road safety and parking. Also thank you to Seamus from Turner and Power Undertakers for his kindness, guidance and assistance in coordinating the funeral arrangements.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually for their kindness, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our deep appreciation for all your help and support.

The holy sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Rita’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday 27th March at 8pm in St. James’ Church, Two-Mile-Borris

Along the road of suffering, you found a little lane

that took you up to heaven, and ended all your pain

You may be out of sight, and we may be worlds apart

but you are always in our thoughts, and forever in our hearts
