On Saturday last Moycarkey Borris commenced their Intermediate League campaign in Littleton meeting a stronger Gortnahoe Glengoole team. Gortnahoe opened the scoring in the second minute with a pointed free and Moycarkey stayed in contention for the first fifteen minutes, Gortnahoe Glengoole 1-2 Moycarkey Borris 0-3. However, the second quarter was a different affair with Gortnahoe Glengoole scoring six points with, Ciaran Clohessy’s point just before the interval being Moycarkey’s only response - Gortnahoe Glengoole 1-8 Moycarkey Borris 0-4.

The second half saw little change in the run of play and from the throw in, Gortnahoe registered six points before Moycarkey’s John Kelly got their first score in the twelfth minute. Gortnahoe were dominating all over the field and tensions were running high with both teams being reduced to 14 men. A further six points from Gortnahoe meant that Moycarkey Borris’s hat trick of points in the final five points of the game did little to the scoreline as the visitors ran out winners on a scoreline of Gortnahoe Glengoole 1-20 Moycarkey Borris 0-8.
