County Senior Hurling “Challenge Cup”
Moycarkey Borris travelled to Toomevara in the County Senior Hurling “Challenge Cup” played in wet and wintery conditions on Sunday last. 

The game opened with a point from Toomevara in the second minute. Two points from Moycarkey’s Pat Ralph and Rory Ryan were immediately traded by Toomevara while they added a further two points to their score line to increase their lead at the end of the first quarter, Toomevara 0-5 Moycarkey Borris 0-2. Toomevara added a further three points to Moycarkey Borris’s two points before the half time whistle, Toomevara 0-8 Moycarkey Borris 0-4.

Toomevara continued to dominate in the second half, scoring the first six points of the half to stretch their lead to ten points heading in to the final quarter. Moycarkey had to wait until the forty sixth minute before Tom Hayes pointed their first score of the second half. The final ten minutes of the game saw Moycarkey scoring no less than five points which served only to reduce the deficit at the final whistle, Toomevara 0-16 Moycarkey Borris 0-11.
