Seamus Ó Riain Cup Senior Hurling
Moycarkey Borris supporters travelled to The Ragg to watch their senior team play Templederry Kenyons in the Seamus Ó Riain Cup. Both teams met earlier this year in the County League and Templederry came out on top on that occasion.

Opening scores from Pat Ralph and David Morris in the first two minutes gave Moycarkey a good start however in the following minutes Templederry equalised with points from Adrian Ryan and Matthew Hogan. A pointed free in the fifth minute from Kieran Morris put Moycarkey ahead for a brief moment just as Templederry hit a purple patch. They added six unanswered points prior to the end of the first quarter, Templederry Kenyons 0-8 Moycarkey Borris 0-3.
Moycarkey’s Kieran Morris pointed a free in the nineteenth minute but Templederry quickly replied with two points from Darragh Carey and Adrian Ryan in the following minute. The next score was Templederry’s Padraig Ryan. In the twenty fifth minute Kieran Morris pointed another free for Moycarkey before Templederry added another. Two minutes after he left the bench, substitution Pat Carey scored Moycarkey’s final point of the half while Gearoid Ryan pointed for Templederry in the final minute leaving the half time score Templederry Kenyons 0-13 Moycarkey Borris 0-6.

The second half opened with a flurry of points for both teams, Moycarkey’s Kieran Morris added three frees accompanied by a Mossy Bracken point to give them four points in the first ten minutes. Templederry added four points to their score line keeping the seven point margin. In the following minutes Moycarkey added another two points from Kieran Morris (one free) before Adrian Ryan pointed the final score of the quarter. In the forty sixth minute Darragh Carey and Kieran Morris traded points. The second half so far was very tight and the scoring was tit for tat until the forty eighth minute when Darragh Carey returned the deficit returned to seven points and a further two points by Templederry increased the margin to nine points. A Rory Ryan point in the fifty fifth minute did little for Moycarkey as Darragh Carey and Eanna Murray widened the gap to ten points. In the final minute of the game one of the many balls dropped short was capitalised one when Anthony McKelvey raised the green flag for Moycarkey to finish the game, Templederry Kenyons 0-24 Moycarkey Borris 1-14.
