Moycarkey Borris 1-15 Roscrea 2-12

In a hard fought contest there was nothing between the sides on the final gasp of the referees whistle on Sunday afternoon in Littleton between Moycarkey Borris and Roscrea. The opening period the game was score for score until the 17th minute when Roscrea found the net through substitute Johnny McMahon. Jamie Bergin made the initial burst for goal but when his attempts were foiled it was McMahon who was on hand to apply the finish to the net. Moments later the north side gained a grip on proceedings when Jason Fitzpatrick was on hand to whip on the ball off his left hand side to the back of the net leaving the visitors in a 2-5 to 0-7 points lead at the break.

The second period began brightly for Moycarkey as they found a passage back into the match with an Anthony Healy goal after a great team move involving Robert Doran and Dan Kirby. In a nail biting finish Jason Fitzpatrick thought he had scored the winning point for the Roscrea men a minute from time however in stoppage time Robert Doran popped over a strike off his right hand side ensure both sides a share of the spoils. There were good performances from David Morris, Eamon Ryan and Robert Doran for Moycarkey while for Roscrea Darren O Connor, David Buckley and Jason Fitzpatrick stood out with some great hurling.
