Padraig O'Dwyer reaches All Ireland Senior Scor Final

The club would like to congratulate Padraig Dwyer on his win in the Munster Final  of senior scor in Templemore last Saturday evening. Padraig performed very well against stiff competition to continue his winning run. Padraig will represent the club and county in the All Ireland final in the INEC in Killarney on the 21st of April at 2 pm. We would like to thank those that were there on the night to support Padraig win the first Munster Senior scor titles in nearly 30 years for the club.

Senior Scor 2011/2012
Following from the success of the 2010/2011 campaign Moycarkey were well represented in the the County Semi final of Scor Sinsear.  Moycarkey took part in the following competitions,
Solo Song (Padraig O'Dwyer)

Recitation (Mary Leahy),

Question time (Paul Dempsey, Claire Ryan and Eoin Sheridan),
Novelty Act (Eamon Clohessy, Mairead Clohessy, Siobhan Doran, Mary Leahy, Michelle Maher, Gearoid Ryan and Liam Troy)

Set Dancing Team (Anita Bannon, Martin Cooney, Mairead Dixon, Chris Gooney, Sean Hayes, Brian Heffernan,  Sharon Ralph and Martina Ryan). 

Four of the acts were s uccessful and continued to represent the club in the County final in Clonmore on the 3rd of March.  Well done to Padraig Dwyer's with his win in the Solo Song Competition. Padraig sang Phil Coulter's 'The Old Man'. Well done to Mary Leahy in recitiation, the Novelty Act and the Set Dancing Group whom gave great performances but were unsuccessful on the night.  Padraig will represent the club and the county in the Munster Semi Final in Tallow on Saturday 10th of March.       

Scór Sinsear 2010 / 2011

Moycarkey-Borris recorded one of their best ever achievements in their long association with Scór by securing four titles at the Mid Tipperary Scór Sinsear final on Friday evening February 11th at Moyne.

Moycarkey were successful in Solo Song, Ballad Group, Novelty Act and Set Dancing and now go forward in each competition to represent the club and the Mid Division in the County Final. Well done to everyone concerned and also the sizeable contingent from the parish who cheered on the competitors on the night. 

The following acts won and will represent the club in the County Final: 
Solo Song – Tom Doran, 

Ballad Group – Tom Doran, Siobhan Doran, Mandy Fennessy, Michelle Maher and Ann-Marie Molloy,
Novelty Act – Eamon Clohes sy, Mairead Clohessy, Siobhan Doran, Mary Leahy, Michelle Maher, Gearoid Ryan and Liam Troy

Set Dancers – Anita Bannon, Martin Cooney, Mairead Dixon, Chris Gooney, Brian Heffernan, Kevin Shortall, Sharon Ralph and Martina Ryan. 

The four groups continued to the Scor Senior County Final with both the Solo Singer (Tom Doran) and the Ballad Group winning county titles.  

Scór na bPaisti 2010 / 2011

The Scor na bPaisti parish final will take place on the 27th of February in Muintir na tire hall in Littleton.  All primary school children living in the parish are eligible to take part.  The following are the categories in which acts can participate: Solo Song, Ballad Group (group of 5 or less), Instrumental Music (group of 5 or less), Recitation, Figure Dance, Set Dance, Novelty Act (group of between 2 and 8) and Question time (group of 3).
